After getting drafted, Texas' NFL rookies are assigned their new jersey numbers
In the days following the 2024 NFL draft, rookies learned what numbers they will wear on Sundays this fall.
Texas had 11 players selected in last month's draft, and it will be easy for UT fans to spot some of the former Longhorns. Receiver Xavier Worthy, defensive lineman T'Vondre Sweat and running back Jonathon Brooks were all assigned the same number that they wore for Texas this past football season.
Here are the numbers that the Texas football program's recent draftees will wear in the NFL:
- Seattle DT Byron Murphy II: 91 (No. 90 at Texas)
- Kansas City WR Xavier Worthy: 1 (No. 1 at Texas)
- Tennessee DT T'Vondre Sweat: 93 (No. 93 at Texas)
- Carolina RB Jonathon Brooks: 24 (No. 24 at Texas)
- Indianapolis WR Adonai Mitchell: 10 (No. 5 at Texas)
- Carolina TE Ja'Tavion Sanders: 85 (No. 0 at Texas)
- Arizona OL Christian Jones: 75 (No. 70 at Texas)
- Jacksonville RB Keilan Robinson: 31 (No. 7 at Texas)
- New Orleans LB Jaylan Ford: 53 (No. 41 at Texas)
- Pittsburgh CB Ryan Watts: 29 (No. 6 at Texas)
- Los Angeles Rams WR Jordan Whittington: 88 (No. 13 at Texas)
One of the two Longhorns who signed as undrafted free agents has also been assigned a number. Former UT punter Ryan Sanborn will wear the No. 37 with the Atlanta Falcons. New England has not yet announced what number former Texas linebacker Jett Bush will inherit.
