UT’s Fenves, French ambassador to sign off on collaboration endowment

France — Paris in particular — is one of the favorite travel destinations of Gregory L. Fenves, president of the University of Texas. He is especially fond of the museums. Fenves is also passionate about fostering global educational and collaboration opportunities for students and faculty members.

And so it undoubtedly will be double pleasure for the UT president when he meets with Gérard Araud, the French ambassador to the United States, on campus to sign an agreement establishing an endowment to support collaboration between the university and France.

The Dr. Cécile Dewitt-Morette France-UT Endowed Excellence Fund, named for a French mathematician and former UT physics professor, will support research collaborations between students and faculty members at the Austin flagship and institutions in France, according to a university news release. The ambassador also will have discussions with students at UT’s LBJ School of Public Affairs.
